Tommy Trash
Tommy Trash is the stage name of Thomas Matthew Olsen, an Australian electronic artist born in Bundaberg, Queensland, who is based in Los Angeles. Classically trained on piano and trumpet, he emerged in 2006 and developed a style spanning electro house, big-room house, progressive house and EDM. His early breakthrough came through It's a Swede Thing with Goodwill, included on Cream Summer 2007. Need Me to Stay featuring Mr.
Wilson earned an ARIA Award nomination for Best Dance Record, while All My Friends topped the ARIA Club Charts for six weeks. The End EP, released in 2011, became a defining moment and drew attention from Tiësto, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack and Laidback Luke. Reload with Sebastian Ingrosso and John Martin subsequently reached the UK top three and achieved double-platinum certification. He received a Grammy nomination for his remix of Deadmau5's The Veldt.
Tommy Trash has released through a wide range of dance labels, including Ministry of Sound Australia, Spinnin', Refune, SIZE, Axtone, Mau5trap, OWSLA, Boys Noize, Musical Freedom and Fool's Gold, and mixed Ministry of Sound's Inspired compilation in 2014. His remix work includes Deadmau5, Empire of the Sun, Swedish House Mafia, Sub Focus, Zedd and Steve Aoki. His DJ-facing catalogue balances large-scale electro impact with melodic instincts shaped by his classical musical background.
