MixSearch is being built as a focused search resource for long-form DJ mixes. This page answers common questions about how the service works.
What is MixSearch?
MixSearch helps you find genuine DJ mixes, live sets, festival recordings, archive sets and long-form performances across trusted platforms.
Does MixSearch host audio?
No. MixSearch does not host audio or video. We link to and embed authorised players from third-party platforms such as YouTube, Mixcloud, SoundCloud and HearThis.at.
Why are some search results missing?
MixSearch prioritises quality over quantity. We would rather show fewer strong results than fill the site with misleading uploads, short clips, playlists or tracks that are not genuine DJ mixes. Many mixes are flagged for review either by users or by internal quality control, and are reviewed by the MixSearch team before inclusion.
What counts as a proper mix?
MixSearch focuses on long-form mixes and sets of 30 minutes or more. Short clips, individual tracks, remixes and ordinary playlists are usually excluded or sent for review.
Can I suggest a mix?
Yes. Logged-in MixSearch members can use the Suggest a Mix page to submit a DJ mix from a public platform. Suggested mixes may be reviewed before appearing in public search results.
What should I do if a result is wrong?
Logged-in MixSearch members can use the Flag Result button on a search result. Flagged results can be reviewed, corrected or hidden.
Can DJs or labels request corrections?
Yes. Contact us if a mix is wrongly attributed, duplicated, broken, misleading or should be reviewed.
I’m a DJ — can I have a profile page on MixSearch?
MixSearch is not a conventional DJ directory. Our mission is to help users discover your mixes. If one or more of your mixes are missing from search results, logged-in members can suggest a mix and we will gladly take a look.
Will MixSearch add more features?
Yes. Planned future features include better discovery, saved favourites, DJ pages, alerts for new mixes, and MixSearch Intelligence charts.
