About Hernan Cattaneo
Hernán Cattáneo, born 4 March 1965 in the Caballito neighborhood of Buenos Aires, is an Argentine house DJ. He began his professional career in the early 1990s on the radio station FM Z95, one of the outlets most responsible for spreading electronic dance music in Argentina, and in 1996 won the residency at Clubland Pacha in Buenos Aires.
During that residency he opened for Paul Oakenfold, who then invited him to open on his global tours, exposure that led Cattáneo to sign to Oakenfold's Perfecto Records and later become a resident at Cream in both Liverpool and Ibiza. He has played festivals including Creamfields, Exit and Refresh, and rose to number six on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll after entering at number 22.
His Sunsetstrip club night in Buenos Aires has become a signature event, broadcast in segments on Argentine radio stations including Urbana Play and Nacional Rock FM. Cattáneo's mix compilation series, including Sequential and its 2007 sequel, has been followed by promotional world tours, and he continues to headline progressive house events such as Piknic Électronik in Montréal and Sunsetstrip São Paulo into 2026.
