Adam Thomas Beyer is a Swedish DJ from Stockholm whose path began with hip-hop and acid house DJing at 12 in the late 1980s. After discovering techno in 1993, he released Drum Codes 1 in 1995 and founded Drumcode Records the following year. He later added Truesoul in 2002, broadening his label activity toward deep techno. Beyer's DJ style is built for club play: tough, percussive, loop-focused techno delivered with precise three-deck sets.
While his music has gradually taken on progressive EDM and trance elements on festival stages, techno remains the centre of his work. Long-running Ibiza sets helped establish the genre's global footprint there, and he continues to tour major clubs worldwide. He also curates the UK festival Junction 2 for Drumcode and plays festival main stages internationally. Drumcode Live, also known as Drumcode Radio Live, is a weekly broadcast reported to reach 12.4 million listeners across more than 53 countries, extending his curatorial role beyond live bookings.
In 2016, Drumcode marked its twentieth anniversary, the same year Beyer married fellow DJ Ida Engberg. He was named the fourth-best Techno/House artist in DJ Mag's 2018 alternative-genres poll. His career shows how a label, radio platform and disciplined DJ practice can reinforce a singular club-focused sound over decades.
