About Yousef
Yousef is the performing name of Yousef Zaher, a Liverpool-born DJ and producer who began refining his craft in the city's clubs during the 1990s before building an international touring career. He founded Circus, a Liverpool club night and later label that became a platform for his own bookings as well as a broader showcase for house talent, and the brand expanded into a fixture of the Liverpool International Music Festival lineup.
Zaher's DJ career included repeated residencies in Ibiza, where his sets helped establish him within the island's house circuit alongside his UK club dates. His new album, 9 Moor Drive, named after the street where he grew up, marked a shift toward blending personal narrative with his production work, though his DJ bookings have continued in parallel with the label and studio side of his career.
Through Circus, Zaher has also released a sample pack, Circus House Music, aimed at producers working in the tech house space he has long occupied as a DJ. Decades into his career, Yousef remains active as a promoter and label boss as much as a touring DJ, with Circus functioning as the throughline connecting his Liverpool roots to his international bookings.
