Wolfgang Gartner
Wolfgang Gartner, born Joseph Thomas Youngman in San Luis Obispo on March 17, 1982, is an American DJ and electro house producer who hosted the first episode of MTV's dance music show Clubland when it launched on September 22, 2011. He served as the DJ for the 10th Video Game Awards, broadcast on Spike TV in December 2012, and in 2010 debuted as a featured guest on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix series hosted by Pete Tong.
His touring schedule through the early 2010s included Coachella in 2010 and 2013, Ultra Music Festival every year from 2010 through 2013, Electric Daisy Carnival across three of those same years, and single appearances at Creamfields UK and Australia's Parklife festival. He finished eighth in the 2013 America's Best DJ competition run by DJ Times magazine and Pioneer DJ, a ranking reflecting his standing within the American electro house scene of that period.
Much of his output prior to 2010 was released under his birth name before he consolidated his production and DJ work under the Wolfgang Gartner alias, with releases across labels including Ultra, Mau5trap, Monstercat, Spinnin', and Armada. He returned to using the Joey Youngman name for a separate alias project starting in 2019.
