Way Out West
Way Out West are an English progressive house and breaks duo formed by Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff in Bristol, who rose to prominence in the 1990s with the UK-charting singles The Gift and Ajare from their 1997 self-titled debut album. Their 2001 follow-up, Intensify, produced further chart success including Mindcircus, which reached number one on the UK Dance Chart, cementing their standing within British progressive house. Beyond their own releases, the duo built reputations as in-demand remixers, reworking tracks for Sasha, Paul van Dyk, Orbital, BT, and Tiësto, remix credits that kept them closely tied to the progressive house and trance DJ circuits of the 2000s. Way Out West briefly expanded into a trio with vocalist Omi for their 2004 album Don't Look Now, before returning to a duo format for We Love Machine in 2009 and, after an eight-year gap, Tuesday Maybe in 2017. Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff have each also sustained substantial individual DJ careers alongside their joint project, with both continuing to tour internationally as progressive house selectors more than 25 years after Way Out West's formation.
