Wankelmut
Wankelmut, the Berlin-based DJ and producer born Jacob Dilßner, has built an international profile through hundreds of annual DJ bookings across clubs and festivals. He began DJing around Berlin while studying philosophy and political science, developing an interest that started with a brief period focused on techno before he settled into house music for its melodic and vocal-driven qualities. His 2012 remix of Asaf Avidan's One Day / Reckoning Song became a chart-topping sensation across eight European countries, selling more than three million records and earning multiple Gold and Platinum certifications.
That breakthrough was followed by My Head Is a Jungle with Emma Louise, a track that gained further momentum through an MK remix and led directly to high-profile DJ bookings across Europe. Behind the decks he uses Pioneer CDJs and a DJM mixer, blending catchy pop-adjacent vocals with an underground house attitude depending on the crowd and setting. Since the pandemic he has become especially prolific, releasing more than a dozen productions and remixes including collaborations with Felix Samuel, Xoro, Marie Bothmer and Tobtok.
Represented by booking agencies covering both German-speaking territories and the rest of the world, he continues to tour internationally while staying based in Berlin. His catalogue blends house and techno elements with pop sensibility, a combination that has sustained his DJ career for well over a decade since his breakout remix.
