Waio
Waio, born Fernando Seca in São Paulo, is a Brazilian psytrance DJ and producer who has played festival stages including Tomorrowland, A State of Trance, Boom Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ozora Festival, Dreamstate USA, Fusion Festival, Universo Parallelo Festival and The Gathering in Japan, spanning the mainstream trance and psytrance festival circuits. He began performing as a live act at outdoor parties as a teenager, drawn by both the new sound and the crowd energy of Brazil's underground scene, before rising through the country's largest outdoor festivals to build an international psytrance following. In 2020 Waio launched Synk87, a psytrance label founded with two partners, giving him a platform to release his own material and support like-minded artists, and that same year he also formed a DJ duo project with fellow producer Vegas, born Paulo Vilela. Now based partly in Germany, Waio continues to tour internationally as a live act rather than a standard turntable DJ, a format common within psytrance that blends production and performance in real time on festival stages. His catalogue and label work keep him tied closely to the psytrance scene that shaped his career from its earliest days in São Paulo.
