W&W

W&W are Dutch DJs Willem van Hanegem Jr. and Wardt van der Harst, who met at Trance Energy Festival and formed their duo in 2007. After spending five years producing trance, they shifted toward big room house and broke through with Bigfoot in 2014. Their performances draw from trance, big room, electro house and hardstyle, while the NWYR alias, active since 2017, gives them another outlet for trance.

They have appeared at Trance Energy, A State Of Trance, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Ultra and EDC, placing them in both trance-community and mainstage contexts. Their collaboration with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Waves, became the Tomorrowland anthem in 2014, and they performed at Hakkasan in Las Vegas with Tiësto on 27 February that year. The duo founded Mainstage Music, which was renamed Rave Culture at the end of 2018. During the COVID-19 pandemic they presented the 20XX XR livestream from Rave Culture City on 23 May 2020.

DJ Mag placed W&W 18th in 2014 and 16th in 2023. Their career is defined by a deliberate movement from trance into big-room scale without abandoning their trance identity, sustaining a festival-ready DJ format across several electronic styles.
