Vicetone — Melodic Progressive House DuoVicetone
Vicetone is the Dutch DJ and production duo of Ruben den Boer and Victor Pool, both from Groningen. Formed in 2012, the pair work across progressive house, electro house, deep house, future house and nu-disco, with a profile especially associated with melodic electronic dance music and remix work. Early attention came from reworkings of tracks by Calvin Harris, Adele, Maroon 5 and Zedd, which introduced their sound through familiar material while showing their preference for polished, melody-forward arrangements.
The duo first appeared in the DJ Mag Top 100 in 2013 and returned in the following two years, including a high point in 2014. Their 2014 remix of Tony Igy's Astronomia became one of their most widely circulated releases and remains a central reference point in their catalogue. Vicetone's releases have appeared on Protocol Recordings, Monstercat, Spinnin' Records, Armada, Revealed, Ultra and Dim Mak, as well as their own Vicetone Records.
This label range reflects how their sound has travelled across several strains of house-focused electronic music. From their formation in Groningen onward, den Boer and Pool have presented Vicetone as a duo defined by accessible progressive and electro-house sensibilities, precise remix craft and an evolving catalogue that also reaches into deeper and future-facing dance styles.
