Tritonal — Trance & House DJ DuoTritonal
Tritonal is an American DJ and production duo from Austin, Texas, consisting of Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed, formed in 2008. The pair are known for hosting the Tritonia radio show, broadcast on Sirius XM's BPM channel, a successor to their earlier trance program Air Up There, which ran for 100 episodes before ending with a sold-out live performance in their hometown of Austin.
Tritonal placed 65th on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll in 2012 and were named among MTV Clubland's ten artists to watch for 2013, reflecting their rise as touring DJs alongside their studio output. Their 2008 track Lights Over Austin featured on Above & Beyond's Anjunabeats Volume Six compilation, and in 2010 they launched the now-defunct trance sub-label Air Up There Recordings under Enhanced Music, naming it after their radio show.
Their 2011 debut album Piercing the Quiet produced eight top-20 Beatport singles, including five that held the number-one trance chart position for over three weeks, and its 2012 remix album reached the top five of the iTunes dance albums chart. In 2013 the duo shifted their sound from trance toward house, a change reflected in their touring sets as well as their studio releases, and Tritonia continues to air weekly on Sirius XM.
