Toni Rios
Toni Rios, born Jose Antonio Rios Ferro in Wetzlar, Germany, built his DJ career inside Frankfurt's Omen club, where he played alongside Sven Väth and DJ Dag before becoming a resident there from 1995 until the club's 1998 closing. He first toured internationally in Florida in 1992 and made his Ibiza debut in 1998, later becoming a regular at the island's clubs and major festivals. After Omen shut down, Väth brought him into the Cocoon booking agency and, alongside Pauli Steinbach, into a role running Cocoon Recordings, a position he eventually left as his DJ bookings grew too demanding to combine with label duties.
From 1998 to 2014 he was a fixture of the Clubnight radio programme, sections of which aired on hr-fernsehen. His festival sets have included Tomorrowland, Nature One, Time Warp and I Love Techno, and he has played extensively across Spain, the UK, the Dominican Republic, South America and the Far East. Rios founded Soap Rec.
in 1995 with artists including Chris Liebing, and later launched his own label, Danza Electronica, in 2001. He has also performed as Tony Montana & Lobby Lobster alongside Frank Lorber, spinning house classics and tech house. His track catalogue spans Eye Q, Harthouse, Kompakt and Kling Klong, reflecting a career built on residency work, radio and sustained club and festival touring.
