Tom Novy

Tom Novy is a German house DJ who began DJing in the mid-1980s, taking his first residency at the Babalu Club before moving into production in 1994, when he signed to the Munich label Kosmo Records. His early original tracks leaned toward European-flavoured progressive house before his sound shifted toward vocal, Chicago-style garage house, a change reflected in his catalogue and public billing as a house and progressive house DJ. Novy expanded from club work into television, hosting Dance Floor Charts, Streetlife, Battle of DJ's and Nightlife on MTV Germany, along with additional music programming on VIVA, giving him a broadcast presence beyond typical club and festival dates. That media profile ran alongside his ongoing production and touring career, with his catalogue on Kosmo Records forming the foundation of his transition from DJ to recording artist during the mid-1990s German dance boom. While specific festival bookings and later-career club residencies are less documented, Novy's combination of an early Babalu residency, a decade-plus run of MTV Germany television hosting, and Kosmo-era productions mark him as a fixture of Germany's house scene from the mid-1980s through the 1990s and 2000s.
