Thomas Gold — Progressive House & Tech House DJThomas Gold
Thomas Gold is the German DJ and producer born Frank Thomas Knebel-Janssen on August 9, 1981, in Berlin. He began producing trance in the early 2000s before shifting toward progressive house and tech house, a stylistic arc that has defined his sets on club and festival stages across Europe. Gold has performed at major festivals including Tomorrowland and the Ultra Music Festival, building a touring profile alongside his studio output.
His tracks and remixes have been released through labels such as CR2, Ministry of Sound, Positiva, Vendetta, and Spinnin Records, giving him a broad catalogue to draw from behind the decks. In 2012, DJ Magazine ranked him 82nd in its Top 100 DJs poll, reflecting his standing among the era's electro house and progressive crowd. His breakthrough single Magic, featuring Jillian Edwards and released in 2017, extended his profile beyond club circles into dance radio charts.
Interest in synthesizers and digital production, which began when he was a teenager buying his first Yamaha DX-11, still informs the melodic, dancefloor-focused productions he mixes into his live sets. Based in Berlin, Gold continues to tour internationally, playing a style that bridges his trance roots with contemporary house and tech house textures for club audiences worldwide.
