About The Martinez Brothers
The Martinez Brothers, Steven and Chris Martinez, are a house music DJ and production duo from the Bronx, New York, best known for a long-running residency at the Ibiza club DC10. Raised playing in their church band alongside older musicians on disco, soul, and salsa, the brothers were introduced to DJ equipment by their father, who encouraged their pursuit of dance music as a career.
New York DJ Dennis Ferrer began mentoring the pair after hearing their sets, helping them secure gigs at notable New York venues and signing them to his label, Objektivity. In 2011, they traveled to Ibiza for what was meant to be a residency at Ushuaia alongside Ferrer, but when the arrangement fell through, DC10 booker Elliot Shaw secured them a last-minute residency at the club instead, one they have held ever since.
In 2014, Mixmag named them DJs of the Year, writing that no other DJ or duo encapsulated house music that year like what the publication called the crown princes of DC10, a recognition that also placed them on further year-end rankings. Their DC10 residency has remained the anchor of their touring career, supplemented by festival dates and club bookings internationally, built on the mentorship and early breaks that shaped their rise from the Bronx to Ibiza's most storied house music room.
