Terence Fixmer — EBM & Techno DJ & Producer

Terence Fixmer is a French EBM and techno DJ and producer from Lille who discovered electronic body music at age 15 near the Belgian border, absorbing New Beat and early techno from nearby clubs including Boccacio, Skyline and Parkzicht in Rotterdam, where he later studied economics. As a teenager he organized the Cosmos and Space parties at the Pyramide club, inviting DJ friends to play before he began producing and performing himself, and his 1998 track Back to Hell was first played out by resident DJ Yves de Ruyter at Cherry Moon in Belgium. He founded his own label, Planete Rouge, in 1998, and released the genre-defining Techno Body Music album Muscle Machine in 2001, later reissued through DJ Hell's International Deejay Gigolo label. As one half of Fixmer/McCarthy with Nitzer Ebb's Douglas McCarthy, he has performed at Wave Gothic Treffen, I Love Techno and Ombra Festival in Barcelona, with the duo's first concert held at Razzmatazz. His track Electrostatic was played worldwide by Dave Clarke, Sven Vath and Jeff Mills, and he has continued releasing on Mute and Novamute while collaborating live with Phase Fatale under the name Vague Mecanique.
