Tenishia — Trance Duo & Producers

Tenishia is the Maltese trance duo of Joven Grech and Cyprian Cassar, who joined forces in the summer of 2004 after meeting through mutual friends and discussing music production in a bar, with Grech already established as a DJ and Cassar bringing a classical piano background to the partnership. The duo have been named the most successful DJ and producer act in Malta, selling out arena shows and holding standalone Tenishia in Concert events, and they have placed in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll for four consecutive years. Their biggest breakthrough came when Armin van Buuren introduced the pair on stage while playing their track "Burning from the Inside," marking one of the first times a major international DJ had played a Malta-produced record and helping spark a wider shift in the country's club and production culture. They signed their first release to Armada Records in 2005 and later issued tracks with vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw on Armada's Armind imprint, with their track "Outsiders" appearing on Ministry of Sound and Cream Ibiza compilations and receiving BBC Radio airplay. They have won Best Newcomer, Best Live Performance and three consecutive Best Dance Tune awards at the Malta Music Awards.
