Style of Eye
Style of Eye is the solo DJ and production alias of Swedish artist Johan Linus Eklöw, active since 2003 when he began releasing tracks on Derrick Carter's Chicago label Classic. Eklöw started out spinning drum and bass at school discos before moving into Chicago jackin' house, and his DJ sets under the Style of Eye name have since ranged across house, techno, electro, tech house and progressive house at festivals and club events worldwide, including Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, Snowbombing and Sunburn Festival in India. He played Swedish House Mafia's 35,000-capacity show at Friends Arena in Stockholm and performed at Coachella's Gobi stage in April 2014 as part of Galantis, the duo he also runs with Christian Karlsson, distinct from his solo Style of Eye output. His mix work includes Winter Sessions 2 with Hipp-E on OM Records in 2008, a joint release with Justin Martin and Klaus Hill on Ministry of Sound Australia in 2009, and a full Ministry of Sound club mix compilation issued under his own name in 2010. Eklöw has also produced widely outside his DJ sets, including Icona Pop remix work, but the Style of Eye catalogue and club dates remain a separate, ongoing strand of his career alongside Galantis.
