Stoneface & Terminal
Stoneface & Terminal are the German techno and trance duo of Matthias Gierth and Henry Nix, schoolmates from Görlitz who began producing together in the early 2000s and founded their own label, Electric Department Records, in 2004. Their DJ sets are built around a genre-fluid style they call Hybrid Live, blending techno and trance in real time, a format documented across nearly a hundred episodes of their long-running radio show and podcast series From Techno Into Trance.
The duo have played as resident-style contributors to the Future Sound of Egypt roster, collaborating with Aly & Fila on the track Universelab, and their Beatport trance chart-topper Hypogean reflects the same crossover sound they bring to their live sets. Signed across labels including Euphonic, Perfecto and Flashover Recordings, Stoneface & Terminal have built their touring profile on high-energy club and festival dates rather than a single genre lane, a flexibility that has kept their podcast and DJ bookings running for two decades.
Their most recent studio work, including 2026's Hard Times, continues to feed directly into their DJ sets, with new material regularly previewed on their own broadcast before wider release. The pair remain based in Görlitz on the German-Polish border, where their partnership first formed.
