Sterbinszky
Sterbinszky, born Károly Sterbinszky in Hungary, won the Hungarian Disco Mix Club Competition in 1993 and was subsequently described by Hungarian media as the country's first star DJ. He held a residency as house DJ for the Friday-night PlayMate party series at Flört Dance Club in Siófok, documented on his 1999 mix compilation Egy Nyár a Flörtben, and promoted club events including SkyLight and Hype Holiday House while regularly traveling to London record shops to bring emerging Western European house and trance tracks back to Hungarian dancefloors. Carl Cox personally invited him to perform at the Space superclub in Ibiza in 2004. His club-mix compilation series, including AXEtázis a Palaceban and Martini Revival, spanned roughly six years of semi-annual releases, and his 2006 side project Sequence 11 with producer Gábor Boros extended his studio output. More recently, his sets have circulated through hosted programs including the RiseFM Niterise DJ Show and appearances documented on 1001Tracklists across progressive house, tech house and trance sets in Hungary and the United Kingdom.
