Steffi
Steffi, born Stefanie Doms in the Netherlands and based in Berlin since 2007, started seriously collecting records in 1995, drawn first to Belgian body music, early Warp Records releases and the first Autechre album before relocating to Amsterdam and eventually Germany. She earned her Panorama Bar residency after fellow DJ nd_baumecker passed one of her mixes to the club's bookers, who initially offered her a slot once every three months before she became a fixture playing monthly, and she now holds resident status at both Panorama Bar and Berghain.
In Amsterdam she ran the Electrics night at Mazzo with Steven, known as Awanto 3, a Wednesday party built around electro, booty, Miami bass, IDM and experimental sound that toured to additional Dutch and Belgian clubs. Steffi released her debut album, Yours & Mine, on Ostgut Ton in 2011, followed by a second album on the same label, and contributed the Panorama Bar 05 mix in 2013.
She co-runs the label Klakson with collaborator Dexter and later opened sister label Dolly to pursue material that didn't fit Klakson's identity. Her DJ approach emphasizes storytelling through track selection, building sets from an empty room and making difficult or unexpected records accessible to a crowd rather than placing herself at the center of attention.
