About Soul Clap

Soul Clap are an American DJ duo founded in Boston in 2001 by Eli Goldstein, known as Elyte, and Charles Levine, known as Cnyce, who began throwing parties and deejaying on the city's underground club circuit shortly after forming. The pair were mentored and influenced early on by record store owner and house DJ Caril Mitro, whose genre-mixing approach shaped their sound, and they hosted Midweek Techno, billed as the area's longest-running techno night, at an Irish pub in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They began touring more widely around 2007, and in September 2008 they performed at the Marcy Hotel in Brooklyn, the home and creative base of Wolf + Lamb, a connection that led to a two-month world tour with Wolf + Lamb following the release of their entry in the DJ Kicks mix series, during which the two acts played regular six-hour DJ sets across the United States, Europe and Japan. Their festival dates include Bloc Festival and the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2011 and 2013 respectively, along with Osheaga, 35 Denton, the Snowball music festival, Decibel Festival, Electric Forest, Rhythm & Vines, the BUKU Music + Art Project and Wonderfruit. Soul Clap continue to tour frequently, often alongside Wolf + Lamb, and operate their own label, Soul Clap Records, from their home base in Boston.
