Solid Stone — Progressive House & Melodic Techno DJ

Solid Stone, the Canadian progressive house and melodic techno DJ, describes his style as moving fluidly between progressive house, melodic techno, and techno, an approach he says opens up further when given longer open-to-close sets to develop. In June 2018 he founded the label Phenomena, which serves as the main outlet for his own music as well as releases from Dutch artist THNK, the duo Luigi Gori & Larsun Hesh, and Banana Cat, for whom Solid Stone also provided a remix. He runs and presents Refresh Radio, a show highlighting what he considers the strongest music of the week and giving listeners early access to upcoming Phenomena tracks. His solo “Ritual” EP paired the title track with the original “Lucid,” the latter reworked roughly five times before he was satisfied with the result. Beyond his label and radio work, Solid Stone has built a touring profile that has included a Montreal show built around a concept he described as unlike anything he had seen before, reflecting a career combining label curation, radio broadcasting, and progressive-leaning club sets within Canada's electronic music scene.
