Slander

Slander is the American DJ duo of Derek Andersen and Scott Land, based in Los Angeles, who met through their fraternity, Kappa Sigma, at the University of California, Irvine before both attending the Icon Collective production school alongside future collaborator Nghtmre. The name Slander was built by combining pieces of their surnames, “S(cott) Land” and “Ander(sen).” They began by playing gigs for college friends and at local venues before growing into a major touring act, with festival credits including multiple editions of EDC in Las Vegas, Orlando and Mexico, plus Nocturnal Wonderland, Electric Zoo and Sun City Music Festival. Slander's sound spans future bass, dubstep, house and trap, a range reflected in their DJ sets, which move between heavier bass drops and more melodic, emotionally driven material. The duo co-owns the record label Gud Vibrations with Nghtmre and also runs their own imprint, Heaven Sent, giving them direct outlets for material built for their sets. Since forming in 2013, Slander have built a reputation within the American festival scene as one of the more prominent bass-focused DJ acts to emerge from the Los Angeles dance music community, balancing production work with an extensive festival touring schedule.
