Signum

Signum, the Dutch trance project of Pascal Minnaard and Ronald Hagen from Zoetermeer, made its DJ debut in July 2001 with a three-hour set at Gatecrasher in the UK. The pair only began pursuing a DJ career some years after starting to produce together, subsequently playing at dance venues including Godskitchen, Passion and Slinky alongside their Gatecrasher dates.

Their breakthrough track What Ya Got 4 Me became a club hit still regarded as a trance classic, and their music received support from major-stage trance DJs including Armin van Buuren and Tiësto, helping establish Signum within the so-called golden era of trance between 1999 and 2005 alongside acts such as ATB and Ferry Corsten. Their single Push Through was the first release on Armin van Buuren's label A State of Trance, named after his globally syndicated radio show, marking a significant early association for the duo.

Since 2007, Signum has continued as Hagen's solo project following Minnaard's departure, with Hagen carrying the name into further releases and DJ dates. The duo's catalogue also appeared on labels including Tidy Trax and ID&T, placing them within the UK and Dutch trance infrastructure that defined much of the genre's commercial peak in the early 2000s.
