Sick Individuals — Progressive House & Electro House DJ

Sick Individuals is the Dutch DJ and production duo of Rinze "Ray" Hofstee and Joep "Jim" Smeele, who met in Hilversum in 2008 while studying music composition and had been writing for television commercials before forming their dance-music partnership in 2010. The pair built a progressive house and electro house sound that has drawn support from major names in electronic music and carried them onto festival stages and radio playlists worldwide, with more than 600 million streams across their catalogue. They gained early attention through remixes for internationally known artists before developing their own original productions, moving between progressive house, tropical house and electro house textures built with piano, guitar and synthesizers. Their sets and productions are aimed squarely at festival and club audiences, reflecting a career built around dance-floor-focused DJ performances since the duo's formation in the Netherlands. Their continued run of releases and touring has kept them fixtures on the European festival circuit, with a sound geared toward big-room and progressive house crowds that has defined their identity as a duo since 2010.
