Showtek — Hardstyle & Big Room DJ DuoShowtek
Showtek are the Dutch brother duo of Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen, from Eindhoven. Wouter also works under the name Walt and Sjoerd as Duro, identities that reflect their respective hard-trance and hardstyle interests. The pair began in techno in 2001 with releases including “Save the Day / Bassment” and “Controller,” then shifted toward hardstyle in 2003 with “Seid Ihr Bereid.” Their first album, Today Is Tomorrow, was released on their own Dutch Master Works label in 2007 and reached the Dutch charts.
The duo later unveiled Analogue Players in a Digital World live at Amsterdam Dance Event in 2009 through Central Station Records, where it was well received by the press. Showtek's sound has expanded from techno and hardstyle roots through EDM, Dutch house, electro house, progressive house and big-room forms, later also taking in future house and future bass. They have performed at Airbeat One Festival, including a 2017 appearance with singer GC, while Amsterdam Dance Event remains a key point in their live story.
Dutch Master Works, later known as Skink Records in other sources, gave them an early label platform. Showtek's DJ identity is built on adaptability: a duo able to carry hard-dance foundations into wider electronic settings without leaving behind the drive of their original club sound.
