Shapov
Shapov, the Russian DJ and producer born Alexander Shapovalov in Smolensk, built a career that began under his earlier alias Hard Rock Sofa before he launched his solo progressive house and trance project. His profile grew through collaborations with Axwell and Armin van Buuren, work that connected him to two of dance music's most established touring rosters. Signed to Axtone Records early in his solo run, he released the Shapov EP featuring Disco Tufli and Party People, tracks that established the progressive sound he has carried into festival sets since.
His catalogue also includes releases through Armada Music, and his productions have found their way into sets played by some of the scene's most active touring DJs. Tracks such as Belong with Axwell and The Last Dancer, Our Origin and La Résistance de l'Amour with Armin van Buuren, plus My World with Vini Vici and Nervo, have given him repeated exposure on mainstage lineups worldwide. His sound blends EDM, progressive house, electro house and trance elements, a combination he continues to refine across studio work and live performances.
He has remained active since 2005, with a career spanning two decades between his earlier collaborative work and his current solo output.
