Seth Troxler
Seth Anthony Troxler is an American DJ born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, who was raised near Detroit from 14 and is also associated with Berlin. His work spans house, tech house, deep house, techno and minimal, drawing on Detroit and Chicago musical heritage. Growing up around Detroit techno in the 1990s, he threw underground parties at a young age and booked Magda to play one when he was 15.
He later worked as a techno buyer at the Eastpointe record store Melodies & Memories, alongside Reggie Harrell and Terrence Parker, where he met future Visionquest partners Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves. A week after high-school graduation, he toured Europe for Omar-S's FXHE label, playing Panorama Bar and Robert Johnson in Germany. His first EP, Love Bezerker, arrived in 2006.
Troxler co-founded Visionquest, later stepping back in 2014 to found Tuskegee with the Martinez Brothers, Soft Touch and Play It, Say It; he also co-founded Lost Souls of Saturn with Phil Moffa in 2017. He topped the Resident Advisor Top 100 DJs poll in 2012 after earlier high placings and played 158 gigs that year. His DJ career balances Detroit-rooted knowledge, international club dates and ongoing label activity.
