Sbtrkt — Post-Dubstep & UK Garage DJ

SBTRKT, the stage name of Aaron Jerome Foulds, is a London-based English producer who began performing live from 2010 while wearing tribal masks, using synthesizers, keyboards and drum programming alongside vocalist Sampha in his early live shows. Beyond that live format, Jerome has played dedicated DJ sets on record, including two documented Boiler Room DJ appearances in London in 2012, one a 30-minute set in October and another a nearly 50-minute set in December billed as an up-close performance from "the man in the mask." He also played a full DJ set from DJ Mag HQ, a session distinct from his live-band shows and built entirely around selecting and mixing other artists' tracks. His music has been playlisted on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music since his career began in earnest around 2008, and his sound draws on post-dubstep, UK garage and house influences, textures that carry directly into his DJ selections. Signed to XL Recordings and Young, with earlier releases on Save Yourself, SBTRKT has built a career that blends live band performance with standalone DJ sets, the Boiler Room and DJ Mag HQ appearances marking his clearest documented turns behind the decks rather than on stage with a full band.
