Sascha Funke
Sascha Funke is a Berlin-born DJ and producer who grew up in the city's Lichtenberg district and came of age musically around the fall of the Berlin Wall. He signed to Ellen Allien's BPitch Control label and built a DJ career centered on Berlin's techno and house scene, developing a style that blends emotional overload with rhythmic directness rather than pure functional club music.
Funke has played at Awakenings Festival and other major European electronic events, and his DJ sets draw on a varied palette that mixes tuneful, sentimental techno with influences from synth-pop and new wave. He later became affiliated with Kompakt's roster of associated artists and continued releasing singles and remixes that feed directly into his club programming.
His career trajectory traces a path common to Berlin DJs of his generation: early exposure to techno and house in the immediate post-reunification years, residencies and touring through the 2000s, and a continued presence on festival lineups and label rosters into the present. Funke's discography and DJ bookings remain closely tied to the Berlin sound he helped shape, with biographical detail documented on his label pages and in French and German Wikipedia entries.
