About Sam Paganini

Sam Paganini, from Treviso in Italy's Veneto region, traces a techno career back to 1997, when he charted at number 47 on the UK singles chart under the name Paganini Traxx with the track Zoe. That early commercial dance hit predates his later, more underground techno work by more than a decade, marking an unusual career arc from chart pop-dance into serious techno circles.

In 2011 Richie Hawtin's label Plus8 released his Cobra EP, a signing that repositioned him within minimal and techno scenes associated with Hawtin's roster, before further releases on Sven Vath's Cocoon Recordings deepened that shift. His 2014 debut album Satellite on Adam Beyer's Drumcode label included the track Rave, which held the number one spot on Beatport's techno chart for two months, a significant commercial marker within a genre where sustained chart dominance is uncommon.

In 2016 Paganini launched his own label, JAM, extending his platform beyond Drumcode releases. His Wikipedia entry and Resident Advisor biography together document a career spanning nearly three decades, from a 1990s chart novelty to a Drumcode-affiliated techno producer and DJ with sustained festival bookings.
