Ryan Crosson
Ryan Crosson is a Detroit-born, Berlin-based techno and house DJ who co-runs Visionquest, one of dance music's independent labels, alongside Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves. Since 2003 he has released albums, EPs and remixes on imprints including Visionquest, M_nus, Cocoon, Spectral, Wagon Repair, Soma, Wolf + Lamb, Get Physical and BPitch Control, and delivered a Fabric mix CD under the Visionquest name.
His sound blends the techno history of his native Detroit with the influence of Berlin, his adopted home, producing a style he has described as combining futuristic dance music with deep, organic textures. In 2012 he played a ten-hour set alongside Visionquest partner Seth Troxler at Village Underground in London, reflecting the label's marathon showcase approach at its label nights.
Crosson has been a key figure in Visionquest's day-to-day concept and running since its founding, helping shape it into one of the era's cherished new dance labels. His studio setup has centered on Roland's Juno synth and SE1X hardware alongside Ableton software, and he has continued to tour internationally through Visionquest's ongoing label showcases in Europe and beyond.
