Robert Dietz
Robert Dietz is a German DJ and producer who grew up in the Rhein-Main region, moving from his native Wiesbaden through Mainz before settling into Frankfurt's club scene, where he first saw Sven Väth DJ in 1999. He began visiting Offenbach's Robert Johnson club in 2003, a venue he has credited with shaping his musical education both as a raver and later as a DJ, and he has held residencies there and at Cocoon Frankfurt.
Dietz's DJ calendar has taken him through Ibiza, including sets at Pacha, and across venues in the Americas and Europe, with credits including Dance Valley in Amsterdam, Revolver in Australia and Arma17 in Moscow. On record, his early output leaned toward minimal house before shifting into a more techno-focused sound, released through labels including Desolat, Cadenza and Running Back.
In early 2015 he launched his own label, Truth Be Told, based in Berlin, issuing its debut release with Detroit techno figure Eddie Fowlkes and later work with Berlin producer Egon Elliut. His music has been described as technically detailed and hypnotic while retaining a playful edge, a combination that has kept him touring internationally on the strength of both his productions and his club sets.
