Raresh
Andrei Sorin, known as Raresh, is a Romanian minimal techno DJ from Bacau who co-founded the label a:rpia:r alongside Rhadoo and Petre Inspirescu, a trio central to the rominimal sound, and later launched a second label, Metereze, on his own. He began playing at Zebra Club in Bacau before the minimal scene had a defined identity, an apprenticeship that shaped his approach to reading rooms by staying immersed in them rather than performing above them.
Raresh is known for extended sets, often running four to eight hours, built around a three-deck technique that layers vocal fragments, percussion, and harmonic elements so transitions dissolve rather than announce themselves. That approach to blurring DJing and live composition has made his sets a reference point within the minimal techno community internationally.
Through a:rpia:r and Metereze, Raresh has helped define two distinct strands of Romanian minimal techno, both tracing back to the Bacau scene he emerged from. His touring schedule includes club dates across Europe and the United States, with warmth and patience in his mixing frequently cited by those covering the rominimal movement as his defining trait.
