Quix
Quix, born Jonathan Schnell, is an Auckland-raised DJ and producer known for a trap and future bass fusion built on heavy basslines and dense melodic layering, performed through energetic sets that mix original material with remixes. He adopted the Quix name as a translation of his surname's meaning of "fast" in German after moving from playing in bands as a child into EDM production around age 14. His discography on Dim Mak Records includes the extended plays Heaps Cool in 2017, Illusions in 2018 and IDK Vol.
1 in 2019, followed by IDK Vol. 2 on Lowly in 2021 and Arpeggio on Seedeater Records in 2023, while his single Supernatural came out on Mad Decent. Quix has performed at Escape Halloween, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival in Miami and Escapade Music Festival in Ottawa, and has played club dates at venues including Exchange LA, Drai's Beachclub in Las Vegas, Temple Nightclub in San Francisco and Neumos in Seattle.
Since 2020 he has also worked as part of the duo Tiger Drool alongside producer Robert Hughes, extending his output beyond his solo festival sets and mainstage bookings.
