Prok & Fitch — Tech House DJ DuoProk & Fitch
Prok and Fitch is the English tech house DJ duo of Ben Prok and James Fitch, based in Brighton, who came together roughly eight years before a 2015 interview to build a shared production and touring identity rooted in vinyl DJing. Fitch, born in Watford and raised partly in Spain and Holland, developed an early obsession with dance music after hearing tapes his brother brought home from acid house clubs in Madrid, later buying his first set of decks with insurance money from a stolen bike.
Prok worked at the Brighton record shop BPM, where he first met Fitch, who was buying vinyl and already producing; that connection led the pair into the studio together, reworking Fitch's track Outro Lugar before formalizing their partnership. Both cite London's Sterns nightclub and the broader UK house scene as early influences that shaped their transition from party promoters, renting village halls for their own events, to touring DJs.
Their EP Raw Cut was created specifically to showcase experimental house material distinct from what they typically play in their sets, indicating a deliberate split between their studio and DJ identities. Based a mile apart in Brighton, the pair have built a career centered on tech house club dates across the UK and internationally.
