Pional
Pional is the recording name of Madrid producer and DJ Miguel Barros, who began his career in 2006 under the alias Alt Fenster releasing techno singles before shifting direction in 2010. That pivot brought him to house music with pop influences under the Pional name, and his solo work found an early home on close collaborator John Talabot's Hivern Discs label alongside releases through Munich's Permanent Vacation.
Ninja Tune has described him as a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and DJ whose talents once made him one of Spain's best-kept secrets in electronic music before wider recognition followed. His catalogue moves across washed-out house and disco textures, a sound palette that has carried into his live sets and DJ bookings across Europe.
Labels including Young and Counter have also released his work, broadening a discography that supports a DJ identity built on house, techno and pop-inflected electronic music. Active since the late 1990s under various names, Pional's career reflects a steady evolution from underground techno beginnings to a broader house sound, with his Madrid roots and Hivern Discs affiliation remaining a consistent reference point in his production and DJ output.
