Phil Kieran
Phil Kieran is a Belfast-based techno DJ and producer who has held a resident DJ slot at Belfast's Shine club since 1998, one of Northern Ireland's longest running techno residencies. His touring career has taken him to some of Europe's most closely watched techno venues, including Berghain, Fabric, Tresor, D-Edge and Zouk, along with festival dates at Glastonbury and Amsterdam Dance Event, and appearances at Northern Ireland's AVA Festival.
Kieran's releases have come out through Cocoon and Electric Deluxe, labels tied to the upper tier of European techno, output that has fed directly into the sets he plays at his residency and on tour. Beyond DJing, he has composed music for film and television, an additional string to a career built primarily around club and festival performance.
His long-standing Shine residency has functioned as a home base throughout a touring career now spanning more than two decades, with his bookings at major clubs and festivals reflecting his standing within the European techno scene. Phil Kieran's combination of a stable local residency and international festival and club dates has kept him active at the top level of techno DJing since the late 1990s.
