Pet Duo
PET Duo is the hard techno DJ team of Anne Gelfei and David Merlino, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, who relocated to Berlin in 2006 and built their career from that base ever since, according to their German Wikipedia entry. Distinctively, the duo perform using six players and two mixers simultaneously, an unusual technical setup that allows them to layer tracks in ways a single DJ or standard two-deck duo cannot, a signature that has become central to their live reputation.
From 2002 to 2013 they were booked through an agency connected to DJ Rush, a period that placed them within an established international techno touring network early in their career. PET Duo have played some of hard techno's most significant stages, including Berlin's Love Parade, Awakenings in the Netherlands, Time Warp, Nature One, and Mayday, festivals that anchor the European hard and hard techno circuit.
Their Amsterdam Dance Event artist listing confirms continued industry recognition well into their second decade as a duo. The combination of their unconventional multi-deck setup and consistent bookings across Europe's biggest hard techno festivals has made PET Duo a distinctive act within a genre that prizes technical showmanship as much as track selection.
