Paul Woolford
Paul Woolford, a Leeds-born producer and DJ active since 2002, became a resident at the city's influential Back to Basics club night, the party that first drew him into dance music, before taking a weekly residency at We Love Space, the long-running Sunday party at Space in Ibiza, from 2008 onward. He tours constantly around that residency, playing guest slots that built on the foundation of his Ibiza and Leeds club ties.
Recording under his own name as well as the alias Special Request, Woolford scored a major commercial breakthrough in 2020 with "Looking for Me," a collaboration with Diplo featuring Kareen Lomax that reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart and topped the Irish chart, later earning double-platinum certification from the BPI. He followed with further high-profile studio partnerships, including "Promises" with Diplo and Lomax, "Teardrops" with MK and Majid Jordan, and "Fever" with Alison Goldfrapp as part of his 2023 album The Love Invention.
Woolford owns the record label Intimacy and has additional ties to Dirtybird Records, giving him a platform for output beyond his DJ dates. His production partnerships have also included Solardo, Secondcity, Amber Mark, Sonny Fodera, Ella Henderson and Aluna, reflecting a career built on Ibiza and Leeds residencies feeding into a steady run of chart-reaching collaborative singles.
