PAN-POT

Pan-Pot is the Berlin-based German duo of Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix. They met in 2003 while studying audio engineering at Berlin's SAE Institute, a background that has shaped their attention to sound design and dancefloor detail. After booking Anja Schneider for an event, they established a connection with her Mobilee label and launched Pan-Pot in 2005 with the official debut Copy and Paste. Their 2007 debut album Pan-O-Rama produced the enduring techno tracks Charly and Captain My Captain.

As DJs, Ippenberger and Benedix move between melodic techno, plain techno, house and experimental or IDM-inflected elements. Their live sets combine music with vocals and are noted for a deep understanding of dancefloor dynamics, allowing the duo to work with tension, texture and groove rather than a single fixed sound. In 2014 they founded the Second State imprint, extending their curatorial role beyond their own sets and signing Amelie Lens. Their catalogue has also been associated with Mobilee and Einmaleins Musik.

Pan-Pot's shape as a DJ act suits both club and festival environments, using their engineering background to translate detailed studio ideas into extended dance sets. From their SAE training through Second State, their career has combined technical precision with a broad, adaptable techno and house vocabulary.
