Oscar G

Oscar G, born Oscar Gaetan in Miami in 1971, began his career in 1991, when he and partner Ralph Falcon began releasing music together as Murk, a project that helped establish Miami as a house music city rather than solely a spring-break party destination. As one half of Murk alongside Falcon, and also a member of Liberty City and Funky Green Dogs, Oscar G built a catalogue of productions and remixes spanning multiple decades and genres, with Murk widely regarded as essential house-music listening from the era.

His DJ dates have concentrated heavily on his home city, with Resident Advisor data showing his most-played regions including Miami, New York City, New Jersey, Washington DC and Los Angeles, and regular appearances at Miami's Club Space and New York's Pacha and Cielo. Oscar G's remix work covers a wide range of mainstream and underground artists, giving him a body of material deep enough to sustain sets without leaning solely on original productions.

He has continued performing into recent years, maintaining his standing as a fixture of South Florida's house scene even as newer generations of Miami DJs have emerged around him. His decades-long partnership with Falcon under the Murk name remains the foundation of Oscar G's reputation as one of American house music's enduring practitioners.
