Ookay
Ookay, a California-based trap producer and DJ, built his profile through a run of Beatport chart hits and major festival bookings through the mid-2010s. His first two releases on Ultra Records both charted in the top 10 on Beatport, and his 2014 collaboration with Dutch duo Showtek, Bouncer, reached the top three of Beatport's overall chart and was played across summer festival stages throughout the United States.
He has remixed tracks including Avicii and Diplo's You Make Me and the Chainsmokers' Kanye, the latter released through Republic and Dim Mak Records, and has run a side project called Coaster focused on alternative dance and house sounds. As a DJ, Ookay has performed at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Electric Zoo, Red Rocks and TomorrowWorld, with his live shows noted for sleek transitions and stage presence that includes MC'ing from the booth.
He built early momentum through support from Showtek, Diplo, Tiësto, Steve Aoki and David Guetta, among others, and released Ghost through Dim Mak Records, an EP blending listening tracks with more straightforward club material, followed by a supporting Ghost Tour. His catalogue and festival circuit presence through this period established him as one of the touring names within the American trap scene alongside labelmates and collaborators across the Dim Mak and Ultra Records rosters.
