Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous Oxide is the production and DJ alias of Polish artist Krzysztof Prętkiewicz, born in Poznan, Poland in 1984. He began releasing music in 2006, first as half of the duo 3rd Moon alongside fellow Polish producer Kamil Bigaj, before signing to Above & Beyond's label Anjunabeats under the Nitrous Oxide name the same year.
His breakthrough single Amnesia arrived in 2007, a melodic peak-time trance track that gained support from Above & Beyond and Armin van Buuren, and he went on to release his debut artist album Dreamcatcher on Anjunabeats in 2010, which included the single Follow You featuring vocalist Aneym. Prętkiewicz is regarded as one of the more prominent Polish artists on the Anjunabeats roster, building his profile as a touring trance DJ through the label's tours and events alongside Above & Beyond.
His sound combines large melodic hooks with driving rhythms and electro-influenced bass, a style he developed further from the harder edge of his early 3rd Moon material. Influenced as a teenager by Depeche Mode, Mike Oldfield and Jean-Michel Jarre, he remains active as one of the longer-running names in Anjunabeats' European trance stable.
