Niels van Gogh
Niels van Gogh is a German DJ and producer from Augsburg working in progressive club sound, with a career dating back to 1998. His debut release, Pulverturm, came out on Kosmo Records that year and charted at number 19 in Germany, 24 in France and 17 in the Netherlands while reaching gold status in Belgium and South Africa and selling more than 20,000 vinyl copies in Germany alone. He signed to Media Records in 2003, releasing One Way Out, Don't Be Afraid of Tomorrow and the album No Way Out, and later issued Dreamer on Scream & Shout in 2009 before founding his own label, Play Me Louder, that same year. A 2007 update of his breakout track, Pulverturm 2.0, made with Eniac, peaked at number six on the Finnish charts, and his 2008 remix of Delerium and Sarah McLachlan's Silence, produced with Thomas Gold, extended his production reach into trance-leaning remix work. Van Gogh received the Discomaniac award at the 2000 German Dance Awards in recognition of Pulverturm's sales performance, and his touring took him across Europe and beyond, including dates in Ireland, Spain, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Thailand, South Africa and Australia.
