About Nic Fanciulli

Nic Fanciulli is a British house and tech house DJ born in Maidstone, Kent, who began his career working at Plastic Surgery Records before being inspired by Laurent Garnier to pursue DJing himself, handing out demo tapes to local promoters. Promoter Sergio Bienati eventually tracked him down after receiving several anonymous tapes and gave Fanciulli a residency in the main room of the ClubClass night at a venue called Atomics when he was nineteen, also signing him to the Club Class booking agency in 2003.

He founded his own label, Portent Records, in 1998, releasing his first track “Dockside” with Matt Blewett in 2000, and has since built and led the label Saved, which has become closely associated with his name in house and tech house circles. Fanciulli's DJ career, active since the early 2000s, has taken him through club residencies and festival bookings built around a house and tech house sound rooted in the influence of Garnier's more purist approach to programming.

His path from an unknown DJ handing out demo tapes to a residency-anchored career reflects a grassroots trajectory typical of the UK house scene's development through the 2000s. He remains active as both a DJ and label head through Saved.
