Mylo
Mylo, born Myles MacInnes in Broadford on the Isle of Skye in 1978, is a Scottish DJ and record producer whose 2004 album Destroy Rock & Roll established him within the mid-2000s dance scene. Recorded largely on an Apple G4 and released through his own Breastfed Recordings, the album peaked at number 26 on the UK Albums Chart and led to a deal with Sony BMG for worldwide distribution. Its single Doctor Pressure, a mashup of his own track Drop the Pressure with Miami Sound Machine's Dr.
Beat, reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart in 2005. Off the back of that success he was asked to remix tracks for Scissor Sisters, Amy Winehouse and Kylie Minogue, producing her version of I Believe in You, which topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. As a DJ, Mylo has described his own approach to blending tracks in Ableton, arranging his library by musical key so sets can be planned for smooth mixing on the fly.
He built his studio around a Moog Voyager and outboard synths alongside software instruments, and continued playing live and DJ sets following his breakout period on the strength of his crossover singles.
