Moti

MOTi is the stage name of Dutch electro house DJ and producer Timotheus Romme, born in Amsterdam in 1987, who started learning to mix for fun after a friend sold him a set of turntables and was DJing by the age of eighteen. His first release, “Circuits,” came out in 2012 on Afrojack's Wall Recordings label, and by the end of that year he had been commissioned for official remixes of Flo Rida, Tiësto and Far East Movement.

MOTi has released frequently on Spinnin' Records and on Tiësto's Musical Freedom label, collaborating with artists including Tiësto, Major Lazer, and Dzeko & Torres, with his 2014 collaboration with Martin Garrix, “Virus (How About Now),” reaching number 27 on the Dutch Single Top 100. As a touring DJ, MOTi has performed at major festivals including Amsterdam Dance Event, Creamfields UK, Nocturnal Wonderland and Tomorrowland, keeping him within the upper tier of the Dutch electro house and big-room touring circuit.

His progression from self-taught bedroom mixing to major-label remix commissions and festival mainstage bookings traces a fairly direct route through the Dutch dance music pipeline that has produced many of the scene's prominent DJ-producers. MOTi continues to release singles and perform internationally as both a DJ and producer.
